Sony has announced the latest model of their Walkman lineup, the NW-ZX300. Featuring playback of files up to 384kHz/32bit PCM and 384kHz/32bit PCM, the player has both a standard 3.5mm socket, as well as the 4.4mm balanced Pentaconn socket. The player also supports USB-DAC functionality, and supports MQA playback.
Care has been taken to use high-quality components, including OFC internal wiring for the headphone jack and a double-layer capacitor for the main battery. Two crystal oscillators, as well as separate digital and analog power supplies are used to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
With a very large 30 hours of battery life and 64GB of inbuilt memory, as well as support for external memory, Bluetooth (including aptX HD audio and Sony’s LDAC), Sony aims for this DAP to be the ideal travelling companion.
The list price for the DAP is US$699.99.
